Ready to organize your hall closet? Then consider Ikea’s Pax organizing system, which can help you maximize the “vertical real estate” (see our post on Clearing Clutter with organizing expert Lisa Zaslow). You can use the store’s handy online tool to pick out the components you want to create a super-efficient utility or coat closet in the hall.
These units are tall and meant to be standalone storage systems in a room, but if your closet is deep enough they can work as internal closet organizers, too. They arrive flat-packed, so you’ll need to be prepared to put them together yourself. Ikea also has lots of great storage boxes and containers, like the Pjas baskets and Bladis lidded boxes, which allow you to cleanly stow all the little stuff that resides the closets, too. Finally, some sleek coat hooks and magazine files—also from Ikea—will let you create a semi-custom closet in one stop—and without leaving home to do it. Getting organized can’t get easier than that! Brilliant idea to use Pax inside your closet! It looks fantastic. I will definitely suggest that to my clients. Depending on the dimensions, it may be necessary to build the unit inside the closet (otherwise you might not be able to manuever it into the closet once it’s assembled).
